Petra (Greek: {{Lang|el|Πέτρα}}, meaning 'rock') is a former municipality on the island of Lesbos, North Aegean, Greece. Petra is in northwestern Lesbos and comprises the villages Petra, Skoutaros, Stypsi, Lafionas, and Ypsilometopo, and the settlements Petri and Anaxos. The municipality has a land area of {{Convert|72.479|km2|sqmi}},{{cite web |title=Population & housing census 2001 (incl. area and average elevation) |url=http://dlib.statistics.gr/Book/GRESYE_02_0101_00098%20.pdf |publisher=National Statistical Service of Greece |language=el}} and a population of 3,029 at the 2021 census.{{Full citation needed|date=May 2024}} Its largest towns are Pétra (the municipal seat), Stýpsi, and Skoutáros. The town of Mithymna is approximately {{Convert|6|km|mi}} north of Petra.

The region has olive groves, and also low forests primarily of pine, but also coppice oaks, cypress, and fruit-bearing trees.
