Pharae (Boeotia)
Pharae ({{langx|grc|Φαραί}}) was an ancient city in Boeotia, Greece. The city was located a short distance from Tanagra.{{Cite Hazlitt|p. 270}} Coins from this city have been preserved dating from {{circa|550–480 BCE}}, and from {{circa|387–374 BCE}}.{{Cite web|url=http://snible.org/coins/hn/boeotia.html|title=Ancient coinage of Boeotia|website=snible.org|access-date=2018-08-17}} The location of the city is not known, but may possibly be at Agios Pantaleimon, {{convert|5|km}} northeast of the village of Schimatari, where on the coast nearby is a village named Pharos.Robert J.
