Phi Orionis

The Bayer designation Phi Orionis (φ Ori, φ Orionis) is shared by two star systems in the constellation Orion.

The two stars are separated by approximately 0.71° in the sky.

Etymology

Both of φ Ori and λ Ori were Al Haḳʽah, "a White Spot".{{cite book | last=Allen | first=R. The similar composition were found in Chinese astronomy, known as {{lang|zh|觜宿}} ({{lang|zh-Latn|Zī Sù}}), meaning Turtle Beak (asterism),{{in lang|zh}} 中國星座神話, written by 陳久金. Published by 台灣書房出版有限公司, 2005, {{ISBN|978-986-7332-25-7}}. Consequently, both of φ Ori themselves is known as {{lang|zh|觜宿二}} ({{lang|zh-Latn|Zī Sù èr}} {{langx|en|the Second Star of Turtle Beak}}.) (for φ1Ori) and {{lang|zh|觜宿三}} ({{lang|zh-Latn|Zī Sù sān}} {{langx|en|the Third Star of Turtle Beak}}.)
