Philip Edward Pusey (1830-1880) was an English Aramaicist.The Periodical Volume 5 Oxford University Press - 1914 "George Henry Gwilliam, who died on November 17, aged 67, edited the Syriac Tetraeuangelium Sanctum, with which Pusey's name is associated, and, in the Semitic series of the Anecdota Oxoniensia, the Palestinian Version of the Holy ..." He started the work continued by George Gwilliam on making an edition of the Aramaic New Testament of the Peshitta.The Nation Volume 75 1902 "He had collated many MSS. and collected much material when, in 1880, his lamented death intervened. Thereafter the work was taken up by the present editor, George Henry Gwilliam. He has made use of forty- one MSS., ranging from copies " The utility of the edition is however limited by its reliance on late sources.The text of the New Testament: an introduction to the critical ... It reveals nothing of the early stages of the Peshitta's development which is a matter of controversy." Pusey also edited several of the works of St. Cyril of Alexandria.

He was the son of the Hebrew scholar and leader of the Anglo-Catholic Oxford Movement, Edward Bouverie Pusey.
