Pilis Abbey

File:Pilisszentkereszt légifotó.jpgPilis Abbey ({{langx|hu|pilisi apátság}}) was a Cistercian monastery in the Pilis Hills in the Kingdom of Hungary.{{sfn|Hervay|Marosi|1994|p=546}} It was founded in 1184 by monks who came from Acey Abbey in France at the invitation of Béla III of Hungary.{{sfn|Engel|2001|p=81}}{{sfn|Berend|Urbańczyk|Wiszewski|2013|p=359}} It was dedicated to the Virgin Mary.{{sfn|Hervay|Marosi|1994|p=546}}
