Plagiomnium medium, commonly known as Alpine thyme-moss{{cite book|last=Edwards|first=Sean R.|date=2012|title=English Names for British Bryophytes|location=Wootton, Northampton|publisher=British Bryological Society|isbn=978-0-9561310-2-7|issn=0268-8034|series=British Bryological Society Special Volume|volume=5|edition=4}} or intermediate plagiomnium moss,{{PLANTS|id=PLME4|taxon=Plagiomnium intermedium|accessdate=7 October 2015}} is a moss found in montane habitats in the Northern Hemisphere.
Research published in 1988 showed that is a hybrid of P. ellipticum and P. insigne via an allopolyploid process, previously considered to be absent in bryophyte evolution.Wyatt, Robert et al. In the UK it is classified as near threatened.
