Planipapillus is a genus of velvet worms in the family Peripatopsidae, whose species are found in eastern Victoria and southeastern New South Wales, Australia.{{Cite journal |last=Reid |first=A. L. |date=1996 |title=Review of the Peripatopsidae (Onychophora) in Australia, with comments on peripatopsid relationships |url=https://www.publish.csiro.au/is/it9960663 |journal=Invertebrate Systematics |language=en |volume=10 |issue=4 |pages=663–936 |doi=10.1071/it9960663 |issn=1447-2600|url-access=subscription }} They are unique in that the males of this genus may bear patches of reduced papillae on the head, posterior to the eyes; the generic name refers to this fact, and likewise they have been vernacularly referred to as lawn-headed onychophorans.{{Cite journal|last1=Rockman|first1=M. Species

The genus was erected in 1996 by Amanda L. Reid to accommodate four contemporarily described species, of which P. taylori was designated the type species. Reid described and assigned a further eight species to Planipapillus in 2000,{{Cite journal |last=Reid |first=Amanda |date=2000 |title=Eight New Planipapillus (Onychophora: Peripatopsidae) from Southeastern Australia |url=https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/34938347#page/7/mode/1up |journal=Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales |volume=122 |pages=1-32 |via=Biodiversity Heritage Library}} and Douch and Reid described an additional species in 2023,{{Cite journal |last=Douch |first=J.
