The Political Union of Economists ({{langx|lv|Tautsaimnieku politiskā apvienība}}), abbreviated to TPA, was a centre-left political party in Latvia during the 1990s.{{cite book |title=The Countries of the Former Soviet Union at the Turn of the Twenty-first Century: the Baltic and European States in Transition |last=Jeffries |first=Ian |year=2004 |publisher=Routledge |location=London |isbn=978-0-415-25230-0 |page=188 |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=B3bwDpegCCYC }} It was strongly pro-economic liberalisation. It was founded in February 1994, and was led by Edvīns Kibe.{{cite book |title=Political Parties of Eastern Europe: A Guide to Politics in the Post-Communist Era |last=Bugajski |first=Janusz |year=2002 |publisher=M E Sharpe |location=London |isbn=978-1-56324-676-0 |page=110 |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=9gGKtLTQlUcC }}
The party was founded as an eight-deputy split from Harmony for Latvia after the 1993 election; the other part became the left-wing National Harmony Party. The TPA joined the coalition government led by Māris Gailis in September 1994, after Latvian Way refused to increase agricultural tariffs.{{cite book |title=The Baltic Transformed: Complexity Theory and European Security |last=Clemens |first=Walter C. |year=2001 |publisher=Rowman & Littlefield |location=London |isbn=978-0-8476-9859-2 |page=64 |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=RL1EQI3LnCIC }} In the 1995 election, the party won 1.5% of the vote: failing to cross the 5% election threshold to win any seats.
