Political hack

"Political hack" is a pejorative term describing a person who is more loyal to a particular political party than to their own sense of ethics. The term "hired gun" is often used in tandem to further describe the moral bankruptcy of the "hack". When a group of "political hacks" of a similar political affiliation get together, they are sometimes called a "political hack pack."{{Cite book|title = Brain Porn: Best of the Daily Maverick|last = Voges|first = Angela|publisher = Tafelberg|year = 2014|isbn = 9780624070672|location = Cape Town}} When one side of a debate has more "political hacks" than the other, this is referred to as a "hack gap" and gives an advantage to the side with more "political hacks."{{cite magazine|url=https://newrepublic.com/blog/jonathan-chait/90492/the-hack-gap|title=The Hack Gap|last=Chalt|first=Jonathan|magazine=The New Republic|date=2011-06-22|access-date=2015-09-24}}{{cite news|url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/media-gave-bush-pass-on-torture-but-clobbers-obama-over-libya-hostilities/2011/03/04/AGk37ofH_blog.html|title=Media gave Bush pass on 'torture,' but clobbers Obama over Libya 'hostilities'|last=Serwer|first=Adam|newspaper=The Washington Post|date=2011-06-22|access-date=2015-09-24}}
