Polynoe

In Greek mythology, Polynoe ({{Langx|grc|Πουλυνόη|Poulynóē}}) was one of the 50 Nereids, marine-nymph daughters of the 'Old Man of the Sea' Nereus and the Oceanid Doris.Hesiod, Theogony 258{{Cite book|last=Kerényi|first=Carl|title=The Gods of the Greeks|publisher=Thames and Hudson|year=1951|location=London|pages=65}}{{Cite book|last=Bane|first=Theresa|title=Encyclopedia of Fairies in World Folklore and Mythology|publisher=McFarland, Incorporated, Publishers|year=2013|isbn=9780786471119|page=281}} Her name means 'giver of reason' or 'richness of mind, thoughtful'.
