The leaves are lance-shaped with the narrower end towards the base, usually {{cvt|15–20|mm}} long and {{cvt|4–5|mm}} wide with more or less wavy edges. The upper surface of the leaves have a few bristly hairs, the lower surface densely covered with woolly, star-shaped hairs. The flowers are cream-coloured and borne in leafy panicles, each flower on a pedicel {{cvt|0.5–2.5|mm}} long. The petal-like sepals are {{cvt|1.2–2.0|mm}} long but soon fall off, and there are no petals. Flowering occurs in October and November and the fruit is a hairy capsule.{{cite web |last1=Harden |first1=Gwen J. |title=Pomaderris pauciflora |url=https://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=sp&name=Pomaderris~pauciflora |publisher=Royal Botanic Garden Sydney |access-date=31 March 2022}}{{cite web |last1=Walsh |first1=Neville G. |title=Pomaderris pauciflora |url=https://vicflora.rbg.vic.gov.au/flora/taxon/364cdbf3-366e-4801-bea8-685ddeda4a1d |publisher=Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria |access-date=31 March 2022}}{{cite web |last1=Wood |first1=Betty |title=Pomaderris pauciflora |url=https://apps.lucidcentral.org/plants_se_nsw/text/entities/pomaderris_pauciflora.htm |publisher=Lucid Keys |access-date=31 March 2022}}
