{{langnf|cy|Pontypridd Cynon Merthyr|Pontypridd, Cynon, [and] Merthyr (Tydfil)|paren=left}}; {{pronunciation|Pontypridd Cynon Merthyr.ogg|listen}}) is a proposed six-member constituency of the Senedd (Welsh Parliament; {{langx|cy|Senedd Cymru}}) to be used for the 2026 Senedd election.

It was proposed following the 2026 review of Senedd constituencies, and will be a pairing of the two UK Parliament constituencies of Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare and Pontypridd. It is to have a Welsh-only name.

Boundaries

A Senedd constituency comprising the boundaries of the UK Parliament constituencies of Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare and Pontypridd, has been proposed by the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru for the 2026 election to the Senedd (Welsh Parliament; {{lang|cy|Senedd Cymru}}). It was initially proposed using the English name Merthyr Tydfil, Aberdare and Pontypridd in September 2024, but was renamed to {{lang|cy|Merthyr Cynon Taf}} in December proposals with most constituencies using Welsh-only names.{{Cite news |date=17 December 2024 |title=Proposed Senedd constituency names divides opinion |url=https://www.itv.com/news/wales/2024-12-17/proposed-senedd-constituency-names-divides-opinion |work=ITV News}} It was then given the Welsh-only name {{lang|cy|Pontypridd Cynon Merthyr}} and its boundaries were confirmed in the commission's final recommendations in March 2025.{{Cite web |last=Price |first=Emily |date=2025-03-11 |title=New Senedd ‘super constituencies’ confirmed |url=https://nation.cymru/news/new-senedd-super-constituencies-confirmed/ |access-date=2025-03-11 |website=Nation.Cymru |language=en-GB}}

It encompasses parts of the principal areas (county boroughs) of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough and Rhondda Cynon Taf in South Wales. The constituency is to be established by 2026, following the passing of the Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Act 2024. The act legislates electoral reform of the Senedd to create 16 larger "super constituencies", pairing the 32 UK Parliament constituencies in Wales, and using a new fully proportional voting system, with each constituency electing six Members of the Senedd (MSs) rather than one previously.{{Cite web |last=Hayward |first=Will |date=2024-09-02 |title=The full details of Wales' 16 new constituencies for Senedd elections |url=https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/politics/every-new-constituency-proposed-wales-29853759 |access-date=2025-02-28 |website=Wales Online |language=en}}
