Populus simonii, Simon's poplar, Simon poplar, or Chinese cottonwood, is a species of poplar native to northeast China and to Mongolia, and commonly planted as a street tree in cool temperate areas of Europe.{{cite book |date= 2005-05-20|title= Urban Forests and Trees: A Reference Book|isbn=9783540251262 |last1= Cecil C|last2= Nilsson|first2= Kjell|last3= Randrup|first3= Thomas B|last4= Schipperijn|first4= Jasper}} There have been introductions into North America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
