Pre-advent judgment
{{short description|Belief that the Last Judgment will occur before the Second Coming}}
In Christian theology, the pre-advent judgment is a belief that the Last Judgment will occur before the Second Coming (or "Advent") of Jesus.[https://books.google.com/books?id=4_L5YkdSx9kC&dq=%22Pre-advent+judgment%22+-wikipedia&pg=PA18 Investigating the Judgement] Anderson, J. T. 2003. Retrieved: 04/05/18
This concept stands in contrast to the much more common Christian belief that the Last Judgment will occur at or after the second coming.
Interpretations
The Seventh-day Adventist Church believes that a pre-advent judgment started in the year 1844,[https://books.google.com/books?id=72UJKYjOc3gC&dq=%22Pre-advent+judgment%22+-wikipedia&pg=PA81 A Search for Identity: The Development of Seventh-Day Adventist Beliefs] Knight, G, R. 2000. Retrieved: 04/05/18 known as the investigative judgment. It will conclude at the "close of probation" prior to the return of Jesus.
