Profile Lake is a {{Convert|13|acre|m2|adj=on}} water body located in Franconia Notch in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, at the foot of Cannon Mountain.[http://www.granit.sr.unh.edu New Hampshire GRANIT database] {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130803072027/http://www.granit.sr.unh.edu/ |date=2013-08-03 }} The lake was given its name due to its location directly beneath the Old Man of the Mountain, a famous rock formation which collapsed in 2003. The lake is near the height of land in Franconia Notch; the lake's outlet is the Pemigewasset River, which flows south to the Merrimack River and ultimately the Gulf of Maine (Atlantic Ocean) at Newburyport, Massachusetts.
The lake is classified as a coldwater fishery, with observed species including brook trout. Only fly fishing is allowed at Profile Lake.{{Cite web| url=http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/maps/bathymetry/profile_franconia.pdf| title=Profile Lake, Franconia| publisher=NH Fish & Game| access-date=September 4, 2014}}
