• You can use the premade citations of IPCC assessment reports which can be found at Wikipedia:IPCC citation and Wikipedia:IPCC citation/AR6 for the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report. They are available in different citation styles (long and short style).

As climate change has historically been a controversial topic on Wikipedia, it has been marked as a Contentious topic. This means there is 'extra protection' against disruptive editing, POV pushing and incivility. You can place {{Contentious topics/talk notice|cc}} on article talk pages. Make sure to inform individual editors that the topic area is marked as a contentious topic on their talk page using {{subst:alert|cc}}. Editors never informed of any contentious topic should be alerted with {{subst:alert/first|cc}}.

When you find yourself in a disagreement, remember to focus on content and make sure you are using high-quality sourcing. You can get help with content disputes by using dispute resolution, for instance by asking for a third opinion.

You can use the content in the English Wikipedia articles to improve other language versions. Useful links:

To provide a snapshot, the values in March 2022 were:

• Total pageviews about 10 million for the 1-month period 25 Feb to 27 March 2022.
• 328,000 pageviews per day (average value for the same time period).
• This is for 3253 articles that are in the Category on Climate Change (note: the number of articles with the WikiProject Climate Change tag is slightly higher, see table on the right).
• Statistically it means about 100 pageviews per climate change article per day. However, many articles get far higher pageviews and many get far fewer. The Top-10 Climate change related Wikipedia articles in March were in descending order: Keystone Pipeline (21,090 per day), Don't Look Up, Great Reset, Antarctica (5,846 per day), David Attenborough, Greta Thunberg, Climate change (4,725 per day), Air pollution, Natural gas, Car (3,554 per day).

• August 2019: Africa Climate Change edit-a-thon
• 24 November to 1 December 2020: "Wiki4Climate" - a week long online edit-a-thon on climate change topics
• 1-31 December 2020: Women in Climate Change Edit-a-thon, organised by WikiDonne and the Wikimedia Sustainability Consortia.
• Women in red: year-long initiative about climate in 2022
