Invitation

An important part of having an active and effective WikiProject is bringing in new participating editors. To this end, a template has been created to be added to a user's talk page in order to make them aware of our WikiProject and invite them to participate. Please, do not use this indiscriminately but only for users that are not currently participants, have not been previously invited, and that you genuinely think will be interested because of their edits or user page.

To use, enter {{subst:WikiProject Curling Invitation|~~~~}} to their user talk page. This will create a message that looks like the following(except with their username at the beginning and your username at the end):

{{WikiProject Curling Invitation|A202985 (talk) 20:31, 12 April 2021 (UTC)}}

:Hello please comment in on the current discussion about the Curling notability guidelines here Wikipedia talk:Notability (sports)#Curling guidelines way too lenient. The discussion is about how to treat non canadian curlers. While the above guidelines work for countries where curling is popular (i.e. Canada) they are likely too lenient for other countries. Please add your input. Thanks --MATThematical (talk) 19:42, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

The To do list contains articles which have been requested to be made or improved upon to current standards/expectations. Feel free to leave any articles you wish to be created or improved upon inside the appropriate header.

  • Create an Infobox template for US Curling Clubs. Once complete, it could be cloned for use in Canada or other countries. I am working on this. --WaxonWaxov (talk) 12:04, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Collaboration

{{See also2|/AID}}

Some members have expressed interest in doing a monthly collaboration, in which a low-quality article would be massively improved, with the hope of eventually getting the article to Good Article status. All low-quality articles about or closely related to curling may be nominees for the collaboration. See WP:CURLING/AID for a list of articles to be improved.

Comments:

  • In spite of the article's obvious importance, it is poorly written and very short. It also has few citations. Additionally, the majority of the article is simply a list of famous skips; very little is about what a skip does. Peacock28 (talk) 00:17, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
  • Also, if we can find the time to add pages for the lead, second, and third (mate), that would be awesome! I also agree with Peacock28, it can/could be improved.......and I will try and see if I have time to work on that article. Jake Rowsell (talk) 17:56, 22 March 2013 (AST)
  • I agree. If anyone has the Russ Howard book, it has really good analysises of the various positions. I don't have it, unfortunately. -- Earl Andrew - talk 19:01, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
