Project:WikiProject Enriching Wikipedia's Days of the Year

Welcome! This is a project to add more underrepresented people to Wikipedia's Days of the Year(DOY). Per the original [https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Populate_Wikipedia%27s_Days_of_the_Year_with_links_to_more_women Inspire Idea page],

Wikipedia's Days of the Year pages are used by many people to get a snapshot of history on a particular day. The events, births, and deaths listed are disproportionately about men. I propose a project that makes a concerted effort to add the accomplishments and achievements of women.

The project's scope has been expanded to include non-binary, genderfluid, intersex people, and others. Consequently, the name has changed to Enriching Wikipedia's Days of the Year.

Please follow the editing standards for Days of the Year (DOY):

• All list entries require inline citations
• Use a dash in the entries
• If you add a year, link to the year's page

A new rule for Days of the Year requires that dates have inline citations. Not all biographies on Wikipedia will have citations for the births and dates. Below are some resources for finding information if the regular search engines don't have what you need.

This is not a comprehensive list or a “must do” list. It’s a list of women and nonbinary, genderfulid, and genderqueer people who have met the criteria for this project:

• They have an article on Wikipedia
• They have a definite date of birth or death
• They are not currently listed on a Day of the Year
