  1. Laflaneuse Born elsewhere but grew up in KCMO and lived there for 30+ years. Grew up in Gladstone, then lived in Quality Hill, a Nelle Peters apartment building on the Plaza, and Brookside.
  2. Rwiggum Born in Kansas City, MO. I've had an extensive hand in editing and maintaining the pages for and related to the KC native band The Get Up Kids including all of their albums, members, side-projects and etc. Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib)
  3. SakuraAvalon86User_talk:SakuraAvalon86 I was born in Kansas City, MO, and have lived here for 21 years. Interested in Downtown KC, Lee's Summit, Independence, and Raytown. -- 12:11, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
  4. Subversionarts Native Kansas Citian for 30+ years, raised in Raytown, resided in Independence, Liberty, North Kansas City, currently in Westport/Hyde Park. Interests: Kansas City renaissance, KC barbeque, City Beautiful movement and its lasting impact on the coming green revolution, Kansas City's growing regional influence, balanced views of the rebirth of downtown and its impacts on surrounding entertainment districts and Ollie Gates' sales tax moratorium proposal. Looking to see much larger regional transportation proposals, like say a bullet train linking Lawrence, KC, St Louis, Chicago, and also maybe New Orleans and Denver.

  10. americasroof Old and senile and wanting to dump my knowledge base on KC as the center of the world before I die (who else thinks KC's interurban is cool or can tell you what EMT really means??!!!). Don't even live in the city anymore but am considering a return since ill gotten gains elsewhere go further in the big Wheat Head field. Interests: transportation, civil war (Westport was actually biggest west (and probably most important) of the Mississippi believe it or not!), north of the river, history, hard facts about KC, agriculture heritage, Truman. Turn offs: the marauding "let's prune wikipedia" crowd who don't understand the joy of eventually connecting the dots even if the initial article is a stub or poorly written and unfortunately the excessive boosterists (whose closed mindedness reminded me of why I was glad at the time of leaving the city).
  11. KHill-LTown Grew up in the Northland and a proud Kansas Citian, though I'm in a workaholic exile at Kirksville.

  • William Gillis (businessman) - one of the 14 original founders of Kansas City.
  • Durwood Soccer Stadium - home stadium of UMKC Kangaroos men's and women's soccer teams.
  • Swope Soccer Village - FC Kansas City's home field and Sporting Kansas City's training site.
  • Electric Park, Kansas City - common name of two parks constructed and run by the Heim brothers (Heim Brothers Brewery), the latter of which inspired Walt Disney's design of Disneyland. Some sources claim that the second was the largest Electric Park ever. Local sources can turn this into a significant article here.
  • Kelso's Pizza -- I was reading the discussion about whether or not Kelso's was notable, and remembering when I had my first pizza back in the 70's before Pizza Hut was even starting its march through the midwest followed by Domino's. I mean, I could be wrong, but I think Kelso's or Pizza Shoppe has a historical basis for being notable. Pizza chains really are a recent phenomenon, and I'm curious where these two are chronologically compared to that. If someone did some real research away from the internet, I bet they could find something.
