Welcome to the Museums WikiProject! A chunk of this text has been ~~stolen~~ borrowed under GFDL ;) from other Wiki Projects.

; Goals

Improve Wikipedia's coverage of museums.
Improve quality of existing articles
Expand smaller museums in non-English dominant countries where articles are little more than a sentence.
Create guidelines for articles about museums.

; Scope

The project covers all articles about museums in a wide range of disciplines and locations throughout the world. By member consensus, it does not include aquaria, herbaria, zoos and other non-museum 'collections' because these are well-covered in other projects.

=Ongoing cleanup=

There is an ongoing cleanup/developing in the undeveloped stub articles of :Category:Museums in Greece to determine which of them meet with notability standards, develop them to at least basic stubs and nominate for deletion all the rest. You can help here. Participants: User:Thaliapap, User:Hoverfish

A Bot/user using AWB is helping generate a list of articles that are in one or more of the museum subcats but not tagged for WP:Museum. Any help is welcome going through the list & removing those that shouldn't be tagged & tagging those that should. If there's a large list, it may be possible for a bot to work through the list
