Prothomomys is an extinct genus of geomyid that lived during the Neogene period.

Distribution

Prothomomys warrenensis fossils are known from the Horned Toad Formation of California, dating back to the Hemphilian North American land mammal age.{{Cite journal |author1=Steven R.
