It had four watchtowers on its corners and did not feature windows on the outside, making it look more like a barracks than a palace.
History
The palace was constructed in the second year of the reign of Fath-Ali Shah Qajar but fell out of use after his death. it was then used for military purposes during the reign of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar. During the reign of Reza Shah it was demolished and replaced by the Qasr prison, the first modern prison in Iran.{{Cite web|date=2006-06-17|title=حال و هواي قاجاري را از زندان قصر نگيريد! يك كارشناس: بقاياي باغ قاجار در محوطه ـ بايد ـ پيدا شوند|url=https://www.isna.ir/news/8503-14768/حال-و-هواي-قاجاري-را-از-زندان-قصر-نگيريد-يك-كارشناس-بقاياي|access-date=2021-11-29|website=ایسنا|language=fa}}{{Cite web|date=2019-12-02|title=درباره زندان قصر {{!}} روایتهایی از دخمه مرگ|url=https://www.irna.ir/news/83577320/درباره-زندان-قصر-روایت-هایی-از-دخمه-مرگ|access-date=2021-11-29|website=ایرنا|language=fa}}{{Cite web|date=2012-09-08|title=قصر قجر و زندان پهلوی|url=https://www.hamshahrionline.ir/news/183825/قصر-قجر-و-زندان-پهلوی|access-date=2021-11-29|website=همشهری آنلاین|language=fa}}
The palace was featured in the paintings of Eugène Flandin and Pascal Coste, two Frenchmen who travelled to Iran during the reign of Mohammad Shah Qajar.
