Quantum Experiments using Satellite Technology
{{short description|Indian Quantum satellite}}
Quantum Experiment using Satellite Technology was launched in 2017 by the Raman Research Institute. In February 2021, the project demonstrated quantum communication for 50 m apart, and on 19 March 2021 for 300 m apart inline of sight in the Space Applications Centre, which was done in coordination with the Indian Space Research Organisation, Indian Institute of Science and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.{{Cite web |author=Chethan Kumar|date=Mar 23, 2021 |title=Isro demonstrates quantum comm tech; to extend it to Sats next {{!}} India News - Times of India |url=https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/isro-demonstrates-quantum-comm-tech-to-extend-it-to-sats-next/articleshow/81636095.cms |access-date=2022-09-18 |website=The Times of India |language=en}}{{Cite web |title=Department of Space demonstrates entanglement based quantum communication over 300m free space along with real time cryptographic applications - ISRO |url=https://www.isro.gov.in/update/31-jan-2022/department-of-space-demonstrates-entanglement-based-quantum-communication-over |access-date=2022-09-18 |website=www.isro.gov.in |archive-date=2022-02-01 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220201151914/https://www.isro.gov.in/update/31-jan-2022/department-of-space-demonstrates-entanglement-based-quantum-communication-over |url-status=dead }}{{Cite web |date=2021-03-25 |title=Explained: Quantum Communication demonstrated by ISRO |url=https://www.jagranjosh.com/general-knowledge/explained-quantum-communication-demonstrated-by-isro-1616676003-1 |access-date=2022-09-18 |website=www.jagranjosh.com |language=en}}{{Cite web |title=ISRO Quantum entangled |url=https://www.researchgate.net/publication/2213382}} Quantum Experiment using Satellite Technology is India's first project on satellite based long distance quantum communication.{{Cite web |date=February 1, 2022 |title=Isro conducts breakthrough demonstration of hack-proof quantum communication |url=https://www.indiatoday.in/science/story/isro-conducts-breakthrough-demonstration-of-hack-proof-quantum-communication-1907344-2022-02-01 |access-date=2022-09-18 |website=India Today |language=en}}{{Cite web |last=Bommakanti |first=Kartik |title=Quantum communications: ISRO makes progress, but China is ahead |url=https://www.orfonline.org/expert-speak/quantum-communications-isro-makes-progress-but-china-ahead/ |access-date=2022-09-18 |website=ORF |language=en-US}}{{Cite web |date=2022-02-06 |title=Quantum Communication By ISRO {{!}} Simplified UPSC |url=https://simplifiedupsc.in/quantum-communication/ |access-date=2022-09-18 |website=simplifiedupsc.in |language=en-US}}{{Cite news |title=ISRO achieves breakthrough in quantum communication, precursor for quantum satellite |url=https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/science/isro-makes-breakthrough-demonstration-of-free-space-quantum-key-distribution-over-300-metres/articleshow/81637153.cms?amp_gsa=1&_js_v=a9&usqp=mq331AQKKAFQArABIIACAw==&from=mdr |access-date=2022-09-18 |website=The Economic Times| date=22 March 2021 }}
