History
The first Queen Victoria Hospital building was designed by Allen Wilson{{Cite web|url=https://www.artefacts.co.za/main/Buildings/archframes.php?archid=1911|title=WILSON, Allen|website=www.artefacts.co.za|access-date=2019-01-17}} and could accommodate 50 patients. It was built in 1904 on Siemert Road and administered by the Guild of Loyal Woman. In 1906, it moved to Milner Park.
In 1913 it became a branch of the Johannesburg Hospital. In 1943 a new building was built on Sam Hancock Street, designed by Gordon Leith. The building is standing as of February 2015, although it is no longer in use.{{Cite map|url=https://www.google.com/maps/@-26.1869173,28.0415822,3a,75y,176.96h,94.76t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sBNNWL42QudSMjcM5uX_VCw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656|date=Feb 2015|access-date=17 Jan 2019|title=Queen Victoria Hospital, Sam Hancock St}}
When the new Johannesburg Hospital was built, the first block was dedicated to obstetrics and gynaecology, making the Queen Victoria Hospital obsolete. It became a residential building.
