History

It was created in 1986 in Curitiba, Paraná, with the founding of Sistema Sul de Comunicação's television network, with TV Independência Curitiba, a Manchete affiliate. Initially it aimed to start broadcasts in September 1986,{{cite news| title=Perfil do homem de atendimento | newspaper=Correio de Notícias | page=20 | publisher=Biblioteca Nacional do Brasil | date=29 June 1986 | url=http://memoria.bn.br/docreader/325538_01/12520 | access-date=29 January 2022 }} but due to commercial considerations from TV Curitiba, which had left Band to affiliate itself with Manchete, only to rejoin Band due to ratings issues,{{cite news| author= | title=TV Curitiba, TV da cidade | newspaper=Correio de Notícias | page=19 | publisher=Biblioteca Nacional do Brasil | date=20 July 1986 | url=http://memoria.bn.br/docreader/325538_01/12887 | access-date=29 January 2022 }} the main station started broadcasting in July when TV Curitiba change affiliations.{{cite news| title=Vamos olhar para fora | newspaper=Correio de Notícias | page=20 | publisher=Biblioteca Nacional do Brasil | date=27 July 1986 | url=http://memoria.bn.br/docreader/325538_01/13010 | access-date=29 January 2022 }} In 1989, the group set up a station in Guarapuava,{{cite web| title=Nova Emissora| publisher=Correio de Notícias| date=1 December 1989 | url= http://memoria.bn.br/DocReader/DocReader.aspx?bib=325538_01&Pesq=SSC%20Guarapuava&pagfis=36400| access-date=18 October 2020 }} which was sold in 1993 and is now RPC Guarapuava.
