History

The club was founded on 7 July 2021 and immediately started competing in the second tier of Macedonian Handball. Behind the club is the Alkaloid company, which owns 100% of the club.https://www.gol.mk/rakomet/nov-proekt-vo-mak-rakometot-se-rodi-rk-alkaloid RK Alkaloid started competing in the Macedonian First League in the 2021–22 season and managed to win the league title in their first season, securing a place in the Macedonian Handball Super League for the 2022–23 season.https://www.gol.mk/rakomet/alkaloid-so-stil-se-odjavi-od-prva-liga-i-go-krena-shampionskiot-pehar They finished 2nd in the 2022-23 Macedonian Handball Super League season and they competed in the EHF European League group stage for the first time in the season 2023-24.https://www.rkalkaloid.mk/en/hc-alkaloid-is-the-macedonian-vice-champion/

:In 2024 Alkaloid won the Cup final for the first time, beating Pelister .The Cup of Macedonia brought a super-dramatic final between Alkaloid and Eurofarm Pelister, which was decided by penalties. The regular part ended with a score of 22-22, and after the sevens, Alkaloid was better, which won 25-23 and won the first historical trophy in the Cup of Macedonia.

:Super Cup 2024 The handball players of Alkaloid historically won the Supercup of Macedonia, after defeating the champion Eurofarm Pelister with 30-33 (14-19) in the final in Gevgelija. The match in the "July 26" hall was won by the Skopje team, which imposed itself from the start and had a constant advantage. Kire Lazarov's boys had enough concentration and nerves in the key moments, so in the end they deservedly rejoiced.

:EHF European Cup 2024-25, after beating AEK H.C. in the finals, Alkaloid became the third Macedonian handball club with a European trophy and the first one to ever win the EHF European Cup. With this win Kiril Lazarov became the first Macedonian to win a European trophy both as a player and a coach. https://www.handball-planet.com/rk-alkaloid-ehf-cup-2024-2025-winners/
