RING finger protein 135 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RNF135 gene.{{cite journal | vauthors = Jenne DE, Tinschert S, Reimann H, Lasinger W, Thiel G, Hameister H, Kehrer-Sawatzki H | title = Molecular characterization and gene content of breakpoint boundaries in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 with 17q11.2 microdeletions | journal = Am J Hum Genet | volume = 69 | issue = 3 | pages = 516–27 |date=Aug 2001 | pmid = 11468690 | pmc = 1235482 | doi = 10.1086/323043 }}{{cite journal | vauthors = Oshiumi H, Matsumoto M, Hatakeyama S, Seya T | title = Riplet/RNF135, a RING finger protein, ubiquitinates RIG-I to promote interferon-beta induction during the early phase of viral infection | journal = J Biol Chem | volume = 284 | issue = 2 | pages = 807–17 |date=Jan 2009 | pmid = 19017631 | doi = 10.1074/jbc.M804259200 | doi-access = free }}{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: RNF135 ring finger protein 135| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=84282}}

The protein encoded by this gene contains a RING finger domain, a motif present in a variety of functionally distinct proteins and known to be involved in protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions. This gene is located in a chromosomal region known to be frequently deleted in patients with neurofibromatosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

Interactions

RNF135 has been shown to interact with RARRES3.
