The RT-1 was an early intercontinental ballistic missile design that was tested but not deployed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War. It was not assigned a NATO reporting name, but did carry the GRAU index 8K95.{{cite book |last=Chertok |first=Boris |editor1-last=Siddiqui|editor1-first=Asif|date=2009|title=Rockets and People, Volume 3: Hot Days of the Cold War|url=http://www.nasa.gov/pdf/636007main_RocketsPeopleVolume3-ebook.pdf|url-status=live |publisher=U.S. Government Printing Office |isbn=9780160817335|access-date=2 June 2020|page=170|chapter=Correcting the Great Ones’ Mistakes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20130626032927/http://www.nasa.gov/pdf/636007main_RocketsPeopleVolume3-ebook.pdf|archivedate=June 26, 2013|editor-link=Asif Azam Siddiqi|author-link=Boris Chertok}} [https://archive.org/details/rocketspeoplehot03cher Alt URL]
Development was led by OKB-1 (S. P. Korolev), and a total of nine flight tests were carried out, of which the two first failed, with the last launch taking place in June 1963.{{cite book |last=Chertok |first=Boris |editor1-last=Siddiqui|editor1-first=Asif|date=2009|title=Rockets and People, Volume 3: Hot Days of the Cold War|url=http://www.nasa.gov/pdf/636007main_RocketsPeopleVolume3-ebook.pdf|url-status=live |publisher=U.S. Government Printing Office |isbn=9780160817335|access-date=2 June 2020|page=172|chapter=Correcting the Great Ones’ Mistakes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20130626032927/http://www.nasa.gov/pdf/636007main_RocketsPeopleVolume3-ebook.pdf|archivedate=June 26, 2013|editor-link=Asif Azam Siddiqi|author-link=Boris Chertok}} [https://archive.org/details/rocketspeoplehot03cher Alt URL] Two versions of the RT-1 were developed, with the first failing its first flight, but succeeding in its second in 1961. A second version was tested in 1965 with three flights, of which two failed. The RT-1 program was cancelled before any service.{{citation needed|date=June 2020}}
