R Cancri is a Mira variable in the constellation Cancer. Located approximately {{convert|830|ly|pc|order=flip}} distant, it varies between magnitudes 6.07 and 12.3 over a period of approximately 357 days.{{cite web|url=http://www.aavso.org/vsx/index.php?view=detail.top&oid=4805 |title=R Cancri|author1=VSX|last2=Otero|first2=S. Friedrich Magnus Schwerd discovered R Cancri in 1829. It was one of the first variable stars to be discovered.
