Raphaël Dinelli (born in Floirac, Gironde) is a French professional offshore sailor. He took part in the 1996-1997 Vendee Globe where he was rescued by Pete Goss after his boat sank in the Indian Ocean and he was in a liferaft dropped by an Australian Air Force plane.{{cite web|url=https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/how-we-met-pete-goss-and-raphael-dinelli-1262298.html|title=How we met|website=Independent.co.uk |date=17 May 1997|access-date=2021-01-29}} He was racing unofficially as the organisers ruled he had insufficient experience.{{cite news|url=https://www.irishtimes.com/news/rival-sails-to-rescue-sinking-sailor-1.119144|title=Rival sails to rescue sinking sailor|newspaper=The Irish Times |date=|access-date=2021-01-29}} He went on to sail with Goss in the 1997 edition of the two person transatlantic race Transat Jacques Vabre where they won their class.{{cite web|url=https://www.transatjacquesvabre.org/en/history|title=Event History|date=|access-date=2021-01-29}} He then went on to compete in the 2000, 2004 and 2008 editions of the Vendee Globe.
