Background and release
The music video for the lead track, "Only I Didn't Know" ({{ko-hhrm|나만 몰랐던 이야기||Naman Mollatdeon Iyagi}}), features actress Park Bo-young as she is caught in a dramatic break-up story. Her ex-lover is played by singer-songwriter Yoon Sang, who also composed this piece as a gift for IU.{{cite web |script-title=ko:윤상 박보영, 아이유 '나만 몰랐던 이야기' 뮤비서 호흡|trans-title=Yoon Sang Park Bo-young, IU 'did not know my own story' MV standing breathing |url=https://entertain.naver.com/read?oid=117&aid=0002122154 |work=My daily |accessdate=May 1, 2020 |language=Korean |date=February 15, 2011|via=Naver}} The music video was released on the same day as the album.
The song itself is a departure from the pop-like sounds of her previously promoted song, "Good Day" ({{ko-hhrm|좋은 날||Joeun Nal}}). It features a mature combination of IU's striking high notes, vocals and orchestral instrumentation.{{cite web|url=https://www.scmp.com/magazines/style/news-trends/article/3046044/bts-exo-and-blackpink-top-10-k-pop-songs-turning-10|title=Before BTS, EXO and Blackpink: top 10 K-pop songs turning 10 this year|first=Sylvia|last=Issa|work=South China Morning Post|date=January 15, 2020 |publisher=SCMP Publishers|accessdate=January 26, 2020}}
