The magazine's pages are printed on multicolored newsprint. Often exceeding 400 pages, the issues are distributed with a sackful of goodies ({{transliteration|ja|furoku}}) ranging from small toys to colorful note pads themed around manga serialized in the magazine. In some issues, readers can send in stamps for mail order gifts ({{transliteration|ja|zen-in}}). The manga series from the magazine are later compiled and published in book form ({{transliteration|ja|tankōbon}}) under the Ribon Mascot Comics (RMC) imprint. Ribon has also inspired multiple spin-off magazines, including Bessatsu Ribon (1966–1968);{{cite web |script-title=ja:別冊りぼん |url=https://mediaarts-db.bunka.go.jp/id/C117989 |website=Media Arts Database |publisher=Agency for Cultural Affairs |access-date=September 1, 2020 |language=ja}} Ribon Comics, renamed Junior Comics (1967–1968);{{cite web |script-title=ja:りぼんコミックス |url=https://mediaarts-db.bunka.go.jp/id/C118254 |website=Media Arts Database |publisher=Agency for Cultural Affairs |access-date=September 1, 2020 |language=ja}}{{efn|The January 1968 debut issue was released in 1967.}} Ribon Comic (1968–1971);{{cite web |script-title=ja:りぼんコミック |url=https://mediaarts-db.bunka.go.jp/id/C118240 |website=Media Arts Database |publisher=Agency for Cultural Affairs |access-date=September 1, 2020 |language=ja}}{{efn|The January 1969 debut issue was released in 1968.}} Ribon Deluxe (1975–1978);{{cite web |script-title=ja:りぼんデラックス |url=https://mediaarts-db.bunka.go.jp/id/C118238 |website=Media Arts Database |publisher=Agency for Cultural Affairs |access-date=September 1, 2020 |language=ja}} and Ribon Original (1981–2006).{{cite web |script-title=ja:りぼんオリジナル |url=https://mediaarts-db.bunka.go.jp/id/C117990 |website=Media Arts Database |publisher=Agency for Cultural Affairs |access-date=September 1, 2020 |language=ja}}
