Background and development

Between April and June 2013, Martin was one of the coaches on the second season of The Voice in Australia. In late May 2013, it was announced that he will tour Australia in October 2013, for the first time in over ten years. Martin will promote his already Gold-certified Greatest Hits: Souvenir Edition compilation and his new top-ten single "Come with Me". After originally announcing five concerts, four more dates were added later, including second concerts in Sydney Super Dome and Rod Laver Arena.{{cite web|url=http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=RICKYMAR13|title=Ricky Martin tickets, tour and event information|publisher=Ticketek Pty Ltd|accessdate=2013-10-03}}{{cite web|url=http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/Show.aspx?sh=RICKSTAR13|title=Ricky Martin: Up Close & Personal at The Star|publisher=Ticketek Pty Ltd|accessdate=2013-10-03}}

Critical response

The Australian leg has received positive reviews from music critics. Helen Gregory from The Newcastle Herald wrote that Martin has delivered one of Newcastle’s biggest shows of the year, fulfilling his promise to have the audience "sweating, dancing and shaking their bon bons in a night of intense adrenalin." This was Martin at his best; "energetic, engaging, charming and still at the helm of a powerhouse voice, even when swivelling his hips and samba dancing his way through a 95 minute set." The show was a great production, complete with lights, video, ten full or partial costume changes, eight dancers and a band composed of musicians from all over the world.{{cite web|url=https://www.newcastleherald.com.au/story/1820536/ricky-martin-at-newcastle-entertainment-centre-review/?cs=303|title=Ricky Martin at Newcastle Entertainment Centre: review|work=The Newcastle Herald|date=2013-10-04|access-date=2013-10-04}} Reviews by Take 40 Australia, Ninemsn and Glam Adelaide were also enthusiastic.{{cite web|url=http://www.take40.com/news/42652/review:-ricky-martin,-melbourne,-5-october-2013-rod-laver-arena----a-shaking-bon-bon-fiesta!|title=REVIEW: Ricky Martin, Melbourne, 5 October 2013 Rod Laver Arena -- A Shaking Bon Bon Fiesta!|publisher=Take 40 Australia|date=2013-10-06|accessdate=2013-10-06}}{{cite web|url=http://news.ninemsn.com.au/entertainment/2013/10/05/23/57/martin-shakes-his-bon-bon-in-melbourne|title=Martin shakes his bon bon in Melbourne|publisher=ninemsn|date=2013-10-05|accessdate=2013-10-05}}{{cite web|url=http://www.glamadelaide.com.au/main/concert-review-ricky-martin-live/|title=Concert Review: Ricky Martin Live|publisher=Glam Adelaide|date=2013-10-11|accessdate=2013-10-11}}
