Robert Mason Hogg (born January 24, 1967) is the Iowa State Senator from the 33rd District. A Democrat, he has served in the Iowa Senate since 2007 after having served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. He ran in the Democratic primary for the 2016 United States Senate election in Iowa, but he lost to former Iowa Lieutenant Governor Patty Judge. Hogg is on Iowa Senate's Appropriations committee; the Ways and Means committee; the Environment & Energy Independence committee, where he is vice chair; the Judiciary committee, where he is vice chair; and the Rebuild Iowa committee, where he is chair. Hogg was minority leader of the Iowa Senate for a little less than a year.
