Robert-Jon McCarthy (born 30 March 1994) is an Irish-Australian former road racing cyclist who competed professionally between 2014 and 2019 for the {{UCI team code|SKT|2014}}, {{UCI team code|SEG|2015}}, {{UCI team code|JLT|2018}} and {{UCI team code|DHB|2019}} teams. He was born in Cork and moved to Australia with his family when he was 14, representing Australia in his early years as a professional before switching his sporting allegiance to Ireland in 2017.
McCarthy had two elite wins in 2014, taking the third stage at the Herald Sun Tour{{cite web|url=http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/jayco-herald-sun-tour-2014-2014/stage-3/results|title=Jayco Herald Sun Tour 2014|work=Cyclingnews.com|accessdate=13 January 2015}} in February and the opening stage at Rás Tailteann in May.{{cite web|url=http://www.rte.ie/sport/cycling/an-post-ras/2014/0518/618148-mccarthy-claims-opening-stage-of-the-ras/|title=McCarthy claims opening stage of the Rás|date=18 May 2014|publisher=RTÉ Sport|accessdate=13 January 2015}} He was contracted to {{UCI team code|SKT|2014}} when taking both victories but was representing the Australia U23 National Team for his win at the Herald Sun Tour.
