Roberts linkage
{{Short description|Linkage generating approximate straight line motion}}
A Roberts linkage is a four-bar linkage which converts a rotational motion to approximate straight-line motion.{{cite web|title=How to draw an approximate straight line!|url=http://web.mat.bham.ac.uk/C.J.Sangwin/howroundcom/straightline/|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160701095911/http://web.mat.bham.ac.uk/C.J.Sangwin/howroundcom/straightline/|archive-date=2016-07-01|first=C.J.|last=Sangwin}}
The linkage was developed by Richard Roberts.
The Roberts linkage can be classified as:
- Watt-type linkage
