Robin Schmidt (born 23 March 1965 in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht){{Cite web|url=https://www.fctwentestatistieken.nl/spelers/spelerdetailperclub.php?id=163&club=15|title = Robin Schmidt - Statistieken FC Twente - Wedstrijden, spelers en trainers vanaf 1965 tot heden}} is a former Dutch professional footballer, notably for Sparta Rotterdam and FC Twente.{{cite news|url=http://www.vi.nl/nieuws/erik-ten-hag-het-verstand-heeft-gezegevierd.htm|date=7 May 2002|title=Erik ten Hag: 'Het verstand heeft gezegevierd'|work=Voetbal International}} He played both forward and midfield and scored in the 1984–85 UEFA Cup.
Career
Initially, he played in ASWH youth teams, then moved on to Sparta Rotterdam youth.
From 1983 he played in Sparta Rotterdam's first squad. With Sparta, he competed for the UEFA Cup{{cite web|url=http://www.aswh.nl/clubinfo/historie/1979-1988/|title=ASWH historie: 1979-1988|publisher=aswh.nl}} and on 18 September 1985 scored a goal in Sparta's 2–0 victory over Hamburger SV.
His soccer career next took him to FC Twente,{{cite news|url=http://www.tubantia.nl/sport/talenten-van-twente-en-heracles-treden-in-voetsporen-van-hun-vader-1.5607788|title=Talenten van Twente en Heracles treden in voetsporen van hun vader|date=10 January 2016|work=De Twentsche Courant Tubantia}} FC Dordrecht, and the German club SuS Stadtlohn.
