Robinson list
{{Short description|List to opt-out of receiving marketing}}
A Robinson list is an opt-out list of people who do not wish to receive marketing transmissions. The marketing can be via e-mail, postal mail, telephone, or fax. In each case, contact details will be placed on a blacklist. The name "Robinson" is derived from Robinson Crusoe, a fictional character shipwrecked and stranded for years on a remote island.{{Cite book |last1=Krafft |first1=Manfred |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=cxhUt_5EflAC&dq=%22robinson+list%22+crusoe&pg=PA134 |title=International Direct Marketing: Principles, Best Practices, Marketing Facts |last2=Hesse |first2=Jürgen |last3=Höfling |first3=Jürgen |last4=Peters |first4=Kay |last5=Rinas |first5=Diane |date=2007-10-14 |publisher=Springer Science & Business Media |isbn=978-3-540-39632-1 |language=en|page=134}}
