Career

Rodrigo started his career at local club Portuguesa Santista in 1995, having played for the club in Campeonato Paulista matches{{Cite web|url=http://www1.folha.uol.com.br/fol/esp/s2023828.htm|title = UOL - Brasil Online - Portuguesa Santista vence Botafogo por 4 a 3 14/05/97 18h13}} and was loaned to Guarani for the 1997 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.
