RollOnFriday (also known as ROF) is a British website designed and used in the legal profession, for law students[http://directory.lawbore.net/training/careersadvice/554 Roll On Friday.com] to qualified solicitors and barristers including Kings's Counsel.{{cite web|url=http://charonqc.wordpress.com/2006/08/11/rollonfriday-has-a-beuty-this-week/|title=Rollonfriday has a beauty this week...|date=11 August 2006|publisher=}} Its readership includes journalists and outside audiences.
History and content
The site was established in 2000{{cite web|url=http://www.lawgazette.co.uk/news/general/view=newsarticle.law?GAZETTENEWSID=26341|title=Law Gazette - General news|publisher=}} by Matthew Rhodes and Piers Warburton. The two met while solicitors at the London law firm Ashurst (where Warburton still works as a partner). Warburton said at the time that the site was intended to be 'young, irreverent and a bit cheeky'.
From launch, the site provided weekly news stories,{{cite web|url=http://www.rollonfriday.com/load.asp?page=headlines.htm|title=RollOnFriday: news, views and gossip on City law firms (including salaries).|publisher=}} detailed information on individual law firms{{Cite web |url=http://www.rollonfriday.com/load.asp?page=insideinfo.htm |title=RollOnFriday: News, views and gossip on City law firms (Including what they pay). In 2001, the website launched the discussion board and more recently has developed a jobs database and other recruitment facilities.{{Cite web |url=http://www.tsg.org/thetrainee/trainee_200403_19.pdf |title=Archived copy |access-date=2006-07-30 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20070927034437/http://www.tsg.org/thetrainee/trainee_200403_19.pdf |archive-date=2007-09-27 |url-status=dead }} Over the years, the site has grown in popularity and is now an established part of the legal market. Over 50 of the UK's leading law firms use it as a means of advertising and make use of its graduate and lateral recruitment databases: Fast Track and Make Me An Offer.
The website had a major revamp at the end of May 2009 and another in 2018.
