Roman Halter

Roman Halter (7 July 1927 in Chodecz – 30 January 2012) was a Polish painter, sculptor, writer, architect and Holocaust survivor.{{cite news |url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/9114186/Roman-Halter.html |title=Roman Halter |work=The Telegraph |date=29 Feb 2012 |accessdate=2016-03-11 }}

He managed to escape from a cart while on a transport to Chełmno extermination camp. His mother, sister and her family were murdered in Chełmno.{{cite web |author=Jessica Talarico & Gemma Lawrence|url=http://www.iwm.org.uk/history/artists-responses-to-the-holocaust |title=Artists' Responses To The Holocaust |year=|accessdate=2 April 2017|work=Imperial War Museum}} After the war he moved to Britain and became an architect, establishing practices in London and Cambridge.
