The Rome General Peace Accords, officially the General Peace Accords ({{Langx|pt|Acordo Geral de Paz}}), was a peace treaty signed between the government of Mozambique and RENAMO, ending the Mozambican Civil War on October 4, 1992. Negotiations preceding the agreement began in July 1990. They were brokered by a team of four mediators, two members of the Community of Sant'Egidio, Andrea Riccardi and Matteo Zuppi, as well as Bishop Jaime Gonçalves and Italian government representative Mario Raffaelli. The delegation of the Mozambican government was headed by Armando Guebuza, who went on to become President of Mozambique. The RENAMO delegation consisted of Raul Domingos, José de Castro, Vicente Ululu, Agostinho Murrial, João Almirante, José Augusto and Anselmo Victor.{{Cite book|last=Manning|first=Carrie L.|title=The Politics of Peace in Mozambique: Post-conflict Democratization, 1992–2000|publisher=Greenwood|year=2002|isbn=978-0-275-97686-6|location=Westport, Connecticut|page=[https://books.google.com/books?id=TL2FX87v8k4C&pg=PA101&lpg=PA101 101]}} The accords were then signed by the then-president of Mozambique Joaquim Chissano, and by the leader of RENAMO, Afonso Dhlakama.

RENAMO declared on October 21, 2013 that they were annulling the peace accord as a result of a government attack on their base.{{cite web |url=http://www.news24.com/Africa/News/Renamo-ends-1992-Mozambique-peace-deal-20131021 |title=Renamo ends 1992 Mozambique peace deal |publisher=news24 |date=October 21, 2013 }}{{Cite web|url=https://www.reuters.com/article/us-mozambique-renamo-statement-idUSBRE99K0T020131021|title=Mozambique's Renamo says ending 1992 peace agreement with Frelimo government|date=October 21, 2013|via=www.reuters.com}}{{cite web |url=https://www.voanews.com/africa/mozambiques-former-rebels-end-1992-peace-deal |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200612001204/https://www.voanews.com/africa/mozambiques-former-rebels-end-1992-peace-deal |url-status=dead |archive-date=June 12, 2020 |title=Mozambique's Former Rebels End 1992 Peace Deal |publisher=VOA News |date=October 21, 2013}}
