Rondos District is one of seven districts of the province Lauricocha in the Huanuco Region of Peru.{{in lang|es}} Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática. The town is situated on a mesa overlooking the junction of the Lauricocha and Nupe Rivers, {{convert|250|m|ft}} in elevation below Rondos, to form the Marañon River. Climate

The location within the tropics and the high elevation of Rondos impacts the climate which is typically cool and cloudy. Daily temperatures vary little during the course of a year and usually fall within a range of {{convert|2|C|F}} to {{convert|17|C|F}} degrees. Rarely does the temperature rise to above {{cvt|19|C|F}} or fall to below {{cvt|-1|C|F}}. The nearest weather station at San Miguel de Cauri, {{cvt|30|km|mile}} distant from Rondos, gets {{cvt|872|mm|inch}} of precipitation annually.
