The Rory Peck Awards

Each year the Martin Adler Prize is awarded to a freelancer who has made a significant contribution to newsgathering. The aim of the prize is to highlight the dedication and talent of freelancers who work under challenging circumstances within their own country. The prize is named in honour of Martin Adler, a freelance journalist who was killed in Somalia in 2006.{{cite web |url=http://www.martinadlerphotography.com/en-us/biography/ |title=Biography – Martin Adler |website=www.martinadlerphotography.com |url-status=dead |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110714042508/http://www.martinadlerphotography.com/en-us/biography/ |archive-date=2011-07-14}} The award for 2020 went to Maha Hussaini, a female Palestinian journalist working for Middle East Eye who reports on Gaza.{{cite news |title=MEE journalist Maha Hussaini wins Martin Adler Prize |url=https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/maha-hussaini-martin-adler-prize-win-rory-peck-trust |access-date=3 January 2021 |publisher=Middle East Eye |date=24 November 2020 |archive-date=31 December 2020 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20201231115401/https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/maha-hussaini-martin-adler-prize-win-rory-peck-trust |url-status=live }}
