The women's double sculls competition at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha was held from 3 December to 6 December at the West Bay Lagoon.

Since Doha was scarce of water the distance had to be shortened from standard 2000 meters to 1000 meters.{{cite web|url=http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/sports/2006-12/05/content_750676.htm|title=Rowing team treats Asian Games as high-intensity training|date=5 December 2006|publisher=China Daily|accessdate=18 June 2013}}
