Early life
Roberts was born in Manton, Michigan. He was an automobile dealer and citrus grower.{{Citation|title=Florida Highways: Volume 13|date=1944|publisher=J.E. Robinson}}
Political career
Roberts was sheriff of Brevard County, Florida for eight years. Roberts served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1945 to 1949. he was first elected to the house in 1944 unopposed and then sought re-election in 1946{{cite news |title=Roy F. Death
