Ruby was an American rock band that between 1976 and 1978 recorded two albums, Ruby and Rock & Roll Madness. In 1984, the compilation Precious Gems (which was credited to Tom Fogerty + Ruby) was released. In 1988, Randy Oda and Tom Fogerty made another album, Sidekicks, with Kevin Oda on drums, and Tom's son Jeff on bass; the album was not released until five years later, by which point Fogerty had died.{{Cite news|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/42204168/ruby_is_a_futuristic_gem_of_electric/|title=Ruby Is a Futuristic Gem of Electric Rock|date=1976-01-09|work=The San Francisco Examiner|access-date=2020-01-13|pages=25|archive-date=2020-01-13|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200113054507/https://www.newspapers.com/clip/42204168/ruby_is_a_futuristic_gem_of_electric/|url-status=live}}{{Cite news|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/43648477/rockin_island_style/|title=Rockin' island style|date=2015-06-18|work=Rapid City Journal|access-date=2020-02-05|pages=32|archive-date=2020-02-05|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200205103433/https://www.newspapers.com/clip/43648477/rockin_island_style/|url-status=live}}
