Rune Medalen (born 13 April 1970) is a retired Norwegian football striker.

A first cousin of Linda Medalen, he went from third-tier Ålgård FK in 1992 to being Bryne FK's top goalscorer in 1993 and securing a contract with Viking FK in 1994.{{cite news|title=Effektive Viking|date=12 March 1994|author=Sjem, Sturla|work=VG|page=41|language=Norwegian}} In 1996 he was shipped on to Sogndal Fotball,{{cite news|title=Fotball: Eliteseriens spillerstaller|date=28 March 1996|agency=Norwegian News Agency|language=Norwegian}} returning to Rogaland and Bryne FK in 1997.{{NFF|1905337}} The transfer fees went from {{NOK|195,000}} to Viking, {{NOK|170,000}} to Sogndal and {{NOK|175,000}} to Bryne.{{cite news|title=Overgangssummene på plass|last=Hauge|first=Dagfinn|date=14 February 1997|work=Jærbladet|page=4|language=no}}
