Signal-regulatory protein beta-1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SIRPB1 gene.{{cite journal |author1=Kharitonenkov A |author2=Chen Z |author3=Sures I |author4=Wang H |author5=Schilling J |author6=Ullrich A | title = A family of proteins that inhibit signalling through tyrosine kinase receptors | journal = Nature | volume = 386 | issue = 6621 | pages = 181–6 |date=April 1997 | pmid = 9062191 | doi = 10.1038/386181a0 |bibcode=1997Natur.386..181K |s2cid=4259314 }}{{cite journal |author1=van den Berg TK |author2=van Beek EM |author3=Buhring HJ |author4=Colonna M |author5=Hamaguchi M |author6=Howard CJ |author7=Kasuga M |author8=Liu Y |author9=Matozaki T |author10=Neel BG |author11=Parkos CA |author12=Sano S |author13=Vignery A |author14=Vivier E |author15=Wright M |author16=Zawatzky R |author17=Barclay AN | title = A nomenclature for signal regulatory protein family members | journal = J Immunol | volume = 175 | issue = 12 | pages = 7788–9 |date=December 2005 | pmid = 16339511 | doi = 10.4049/jimmunol.175.12.7788|doi-access= |s2cid=41479985 }} SIRPB1 has also recently been designated CD172B (cluster of differentiation 172B).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the signal-regulatory-protein (SIRP) family, and also belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIRP family members are receptor-type transmembrane glycoproteins known to be involved in the negative regulation of receptor tyrosine kinase-coupled signaling processes. This protein was found to interact with TYROBP/DAP12, a protein bearing immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs. This protein was also reported to participate in the recruitment of tyrosine kinase SYK. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: SIRPB1 signal-regulatory protein beta 1| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=10326}}
