SWEEPNIK

SWEEPNIK was a device designed by Otto Frisch that used a sweeping laser to follow bubble chamber tracks. It was later used to follow roads as an aid to the digitisation of maps.{{Cite web |publisher=Cambridge Physics, part of the Cavendish Laboratory Educational Outreach website for schools and the public |title=Cambridge Physics - Sweepnik |url=http://www-outreach.phy.cam.ac.uk/camphy/sweepnik/sweepnik_index.htm |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20060620192304/http://www-outreach.phy.cam.ac.uk/camphy/sweepnik/sweepnik_index.htm |archive-date=20 June 2006 |access-date=16 December 2008}}{{Cite journal |last1=Davies |first1=D.
